The Vampire Ritual

There have been 4 vampire lords throughout time and they are...



Coun du Vam
Vlad the Impaler
Dimitri and
Count Dracula.

They are all supposed to do the same ritual that enables them to become a vampire lord.

I did a little proper research into the ritual, none of that Bram Stoker crap, and I found what I believe is the original rules. There was even a ritual but they all seem to differ on the specifics. After all, the records of the ritual were supposed to be destroyed anyway. Saying that, I'm not too sure if this is genuine.

First, you have to use something precious to you. You can't cheat here either. It has to be important to you or it wont work. Vam used his house, Vlad used his spear, Dimitri used his son and Dracula used the land of Transylvania. Make sure you make the right choice here, if the thing you use is destroyed you die, so make sure it's something permanent.

Second, you have to use an animal, Vam used a wolf, Vlad used a serpent, Dimitri used a stone gargoyle and Dracula used a vampire bat. You will be able to transform into any creature but your underlings will only be able to transform into this animal, so make sure you don't make it some animals prey or something. Also, you will only be able to feast the way that animal feasts, Vam had to disembowel his victims, Vlad had to eat babies, Dimitri ate shadows and Dracula had to drink blood.

The ritual is anti pagan so anything pagan will harm you e.g. herbs in particular will harm you i.e. wolfsbane, mint, garlic, etc. and any form of gypsy charm will fuck you up. There's nothing about other religions except for much more recent documents so a holy cross will probably not work.

Fresh water however is supposed to harm you if you are a vampire lord. In fact anything fresh and clean will be harmful. Vampire lords are only allowed to eat food that has been preserved or has started to rot. They must also wash in swamp water as other water will corrode their skin.

The original ritual says that the vampire lord has to live as the animal does in human form. This is described in 3 parts: eat, sleep and breed. We've already discussed eating so next is sleeping. If the creature burrows they must sleep underground, if it is a bird they must sleep in a tree etc. That's why Dracula is said to sleep upside down. And of course there is that third thing. They have to breed the same way but I'll leave that up to your imaginations.

One final thing, if they are killed the same way that they feast on their victims, then they die e.g. if Vam was disemboweled, Vlad's children were killed as babies, Dimitri's shadow was stolen or Dracula bled to death, say for example by a steak through the heart.

Almost forgot, you have to rest, i.e. sleep with, the thing that's precious to you. Vam had to sleep in his house, that's fairly easy, Vlad had to sleep with his spear by his side, Dimitri had to sleep in the same bed as his son and Dracula had to sleep on some earth from the ground at Transylvania
