Vampire History 3

--Dimitri now--

Ah, now this guy has an interesting story but yet again it is relatively unknown. Dimitri was a good kind ruler. He was in fact a very nice person who really cared about his people but unfortunately they didn't love him back. He was very intelligent and wise and ran a very prosperous happy land. But unfortunately Dimitri was Pagan and everyone else was Christian.

The Christians absolutely loathed the pagans and the only thing that stopped Dimitri from getting killed was the fact that he's the ruler and no-one was willing to stand up against him.

The people wouldn't listen to him and would throw stones at him whenever he appeared to make a speech. Therefore alot of the communication between him and the people was carried out by an appointed individual, who unfortunately hated Dimitri and twisted his words to incite hatred.

Dimitri's only friend was his son who was also Pagan. Dimitri became worried about the increasing likelihood of an uprising, and in an attempt to spare his life and save his country, he performed the forbidden vampire ritual using his son so he would live forever as he saw it.

Dimitri's son however disapproved and Dimitri got some guards to force his son to take the ritual. Dimitri was looking out for the welfare of his country but his son saw it as forcing him to commit evil.

Dimitri's house was overthrown soon after and Dimitri was reported to have been killed. His son however managed to conceal himself and escape his fate.

Soon after a stone gargoyle high up Dimitri's castle began to speak in Dimitri's voice. It made several public speeches announcing its love for the people and issuing orders to Dimitri's officials. The position of the gargoyle changed but the voice was always the same. It even proclaimed that they should make alliances with their neighboring countries, which was unanimously disagreed with.

Despite this, the new ruler who was much more greedy and stupid and had set his home in Dimitri's castle, completely ignored the speeches and even proclaimed war against the neighboring countries just to spite the talking statue.

One day the new ruler was making a speech and the statue interrupted and spoke over him so he decided to try and smash the statue. He leaned out of the window to grab onto the statue and the statue moved away. The ruler then slipped and fell to his death.

On lookers reported that the statue moved. There was widespread panic as they believed Dimitri had returned from the dead to kill them all. Soon after there were reports of people who mysteriously died in plain view. All the victims were missing their shadows. There were also reports of a moving gargoyle that hid in the shadows.

Then someone who was covered in a cloak so they couldn't see his face organized a party of people to go out and destroy all the stone statues they could find. He also told them to light up all the streets and watch their shadows.

Lo and behold, a shadow of a gargoyle was spotted following them. Now they knew how to see him. Unfortunately they could only protect themselves. They had no idea where the Gargoyle was hiding.

Then one night the stranger revealed himself to be Dimitri's son. He explained how Dimitri had used him and a statue in the vampire ritual to make himself undying.

He expected the people to follow him in a quest to kill his father but instead they captured him and put him to death. The mysterious deaths and sightings stopped almost immediately after. A smashed statue appeared in the town square the day Dimitri's son died. Spooky eh?

A while later a Victor Belmont appeared. He founded the vampire slayer's guild and was said to have inhuman levels of strength, stamina and endurance. It is rumored that his mother was impregnated by Dimitri's son before he died. This would make Victor part vampire and he would have all the physical stat bonuses of a vampire without any of the other rules. This means that he's not immortal and can die by any normal means. It is said that he could stop from turning into a full vampire by using herbs and charms to suppress the evil.

Dimitri stands out as odd among the vampire lords as he is the only nice guy. Every other vampire lord had filled their lives with greed or took pleasure from another person's suffering. Not Dimitri, he was a great leader and the kindest of people. The one problem he had was the fact that he wasn't the same religion as everyone else. He only used the ritual so he could live forever and keep his land and his people prosperous and how do they repay him? They kill him and his son. That's gratitude.
