Hyper Fractions

Hyper Fractioning is the latest trend to hit Dooms.

Basically it's just a buzz word for what we were doing already. Hyper Fractioning is basically the process of dividing up a company but still remaining it intact.

Say you wanted to have a company that was a social network, online store and webzine. You want them all to be the same company so you can manage them better and have it cost less to run but you want to market them as three separate things to get three separate markets.

To do this you would fraction the company. It's still one company but you have three separate sets of departments. They would have to share some departments too but this way the company is still working as one, whilst working of separate tasks. You would make 1 website with 3 separate sub-sections that would each be accessed using their own domain thanks to a fancy domain hosting service.

That's how you fraction. Now people who want to use the social network wont be deterred by the online store and nor will the webzine people be distracted by the social network etc.

Now say you wanted to divide it up even further, with webhosting service and a blog hosting service, separate to the social network or have a weather report and sports section separate to the rest of the webzine. You would basically do the same thing again but you would have to link the webhost, bloghost and social network together as with the weather, sports and webzine. This is linked fractioning.

You want the separate markets of blogs and webhosting but you do want people from one to use the other if they want to. Notice, "if they want to", they don't have to have a blog if they have a website and visa versa.

Now say you wanted the sports reviews to offer different packages like one for field sports, one for extreme sports, one for winter sports and one for athletic sports. If you make a site for each you are now going into Hyper Fractioning. The sports site works great as a whole but you want to maximize on the different markets. With sites about each separate sport type, you can tailor make the site the way the user want and very efficiently.

I've seen businesses hyper fraction so that they can offer the same product but under a different brand for every genre. In fact that brings me onto my next subject.

Hyper Band is a site for musical artists, where they can market their songs under several different band names. This enables them to generate a certain image for each style of song they want to play without deterring potential buyers by having songs the buyers don't want on their albums.

So go and check it out if you are sick of hearing the same songs on the radio or would be interested in marketing your band with several different images. Oh, and by the way, you can market the same song under different names.
