OMG RAIN!!!

Thank the gods!

Just a little background first. For the past few weeks it's been unbearable weather in my area. in the day it's been about 27 degrees Celsius (approx 80 degrees farenheit) while there are no clouds in the sky, then the clouds roll over and trap the heat in all night with no switchover point. for about 3 weeks now day and night has just been a constant drain as there's no escape from the relentless heat. it hasn't rained the entire time. there's been pretty much no breeze either so opening a window barely affects the indoors temperature. and most days it just lets hot air in as it's often hotter outside than in. it's not even dry hot weather either like you could enjoy the sunshine. it's damp and humid and you get smelly and sticky with sweat in no time. the damp heat just drains the life out of you. you find yourself drinking water all the time and we had to hand out leaflets (brochures) to a bunch of shops and stuff so we were out in it all day. i've drunk a litre of doctor pepper, a bottle of oasis, a cup-a-soup, a pint of orange dilute, a glass of oj and lemonade and 3 glasses of water today. in all that time i haven't need to use the toilet as my body has just sweat out what water was in me. and now at long last there's rain.

rain means that everything will get cooler. if the clouds are falling they can't trap the heat in. and as the water evaps it'll be nice and cool. it's thunder and lightning outside and the rain is falling without a break. we need this to take the lid off the pressure cooker we're in. it's half past 7 in the morning here. when it's a more sensible time i'm going outside to enjoy the wet. i know people complain about british weather but this been record heat for far too long. when it stops raining i can open the window and let the cool air in. that'll be heavenly. i never thought i'd be so glad to see rain. the more rain the cooler it'll be. when we told the rain to come another day, this is it. chuck it all down please.

phew
